Dervish or Paragon? - Guild Wars Forums

Hi.

I am not new to this game, but I got bored with my Characters and deleted them (I was tired and didnt pay full attention at the time), I am now going to start playing again and I'm wondering what would be better for PVE or PVP (I mainly play PVE though).

Paragon seem quite appealing, but is it a support class? If so, I wont make one.

Please help.

Paragon is a hybrid class, though it's best use is probably support. They have high armor like a warrior, range attacks with spear, and support chants along the lines of monks.
Personally, I like paragons a lot and would welcome one into my party. The chants they provide are generally party-wide and that's always helpful, and a paragon/warrior with some of the new sunspear and Luxon-type skills can really make a party overwhelm just about anything.
But in this, they are also maligned similar to mesmers. Nobody else can tell what they are doing to make things easier on everybody, so they have difficulty getting into Pick-up Groups (PUGs). Particularly for PvE. They do better in PvP as evidenced by the numerous nerfs their skills have received as a result.

Dervs are along the lines of warriors. Melee class all the way with enchantments. If you like being on the frontline of a fight, Derv may be for you. They don't have as much trouble getting into a PUG as they are often swapable on team missions that require a warrior. They also have several skills that strike multiple foes at once whereas the warrior is limited in this regard.

hmm, I see, I'm still stuck between the two.

Do Paragons usually get into groups easily?
same question for Dervish aswell.
and what class would it be easier to get Survivor with?
